Cheddar Bacon Potato Bake with Leek and Chocolate Drizzle

Ingredients:


  • 250g of bacon
  • 150g of leek
  • 200g of bread
  • 200g of cheddar cheese
  • 50g of dark chocolate
  • 300g of potatoes

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Blender

  • Food Processor

Instructions:


  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Cook the bacon in a frying pan until crispy, then chop into small pieces.
  • In a blender, blend the bread into breadcrumbs. Mix the breadcrumbs with half of the cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, and chopped leek in a mixing bowl.
  • Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then mash them in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the mashed potatoes into the bottom of a baking dish, creating an even layer.
  • Top the mashed potatoes with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing it down firmly.
  • Grate the remaining cheddar cheese over the top of the breadcrumb layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  • While baking, melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in short bursts until fully melted.
  • Once the bake is ready, remove it from the oven and drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
